Tuberous Begonia Southerlandii

Tuberous begonias are best suited to climates that are cool at night. They require cool nights to grow properly.

White House Nursery Tuberous begonias will grow in South Australia, Victoria, NSW, and parts of Queensland: anywhere there are cool nights, They won't grow in the tropics.

This is one of the original tuberous begonias collected from South Africa that was used to develop what we know as modern tuberous begonias today. It was collected by Peter Cormac Sutherland (1822-1900), a Scottish geologist and physician who collected this plant while serving as surveyor-general in 1864.
